“Do not fear sudden terror, nor the destruction of the wicked when it comes (Proverbs 3:23). Contrive a scheme, but it will be foiled; conspire a plot, but it will not materialize, for G-d is with you (Isaiah 2:10). To your old age, I am with you; I have made you and I will carry you. I will sustain you and deliver you” (ibid. 46.4).”
There is much comfort in this verse. The hope is that you should find comfort in any statements, or acts of faith, especially if you experience chronic pain.
You are the navigator on your life jet! As the navigator, who can regulate all the dials (chronic pain rating scales), you must inevitably have ultimate faith that, no matter how much unexpected turbulence you experience, the Pilot will see you through it. Your faith in the Pilot is based on how much total control you believe you have in your life; consequently, your rating on spirituality is related to your control scale rating. There will be times when you feel helpless and powerless. If you can accept helplessness as part of the human condition, then you can have a high spirituality rating, whether that’s faith in G-d or some higher power.”
